Chinese New Year Gala / Attenborough Centre, Falmer

 
 

Chinese New Year Gala is an annual event at University of Sussex, organised by by the Chinese Students and Scholars Association (CSSA). In addition to brilliant performances by students, including music and dance – both traditional and modern – as well as comedy acts, and speeches, this year the event had a special guest. Bai Xiangui, from the Miao Autonomous County in Chongqing, China (see the photo below: the middle age man with traditional Chinese clothing) entertained the audience by playing a traditional Chinese song and then the theme tune from the film, Titanic, on a leaf.
